A seven-piece matryoshka featuring sumptuous rose motifs painted in rich crimson, coral, and dusty pink on a warm ivory ground. Each doll carries a different variety of rose, from the tea rose on the outermost figure to a tiny rosebud on the smallest. Painted in oil pigments that allow the artisan to build up translucent layers of color for a depth impossible with tempera or gouache.
